-- THE QUEEN OF FLOWERS
The History of the Rose
The Damask Rose was first depicted in a Greek fresco, dated 1500 BC, found on the Island of Crete. Rose Damacena
is sometimes called the Holy Rose, a symbol of God's love for the world, it is the rose that surrounds the Virgin.
Rose is considered the most sensuous and romantic flower, and is also the emblem of Venus and Aphrodite, the godesses
of love and beauty.
Roman brides and grooms wore crowns of roses. They were scattered on the marriage bed, worn
as garlands, and thrown on graves at funerals. Greek doctors prepared medicines from the petals and leaves.
Rose Power
Cool and moist in nature, rose clears heat, inflammation and toxins from the body and fights infection in the digestive
tract. Rose cools the liver and soothes tension and irritability, it reduces nausea, and it is also calming
and supports the heart, It is important for menopause formulas. The rose hip, the fruit of the rose plant, is rich
in Vitamins A, B, C and K, as well as essential fatty acids and antioxidants.
Rose is wonderful for skin care because of its astringent and antiseptic nature. It soothes
and tones dry and sensitive skin, and cleansing with rose promotes tissue repair,tones and removes wrinkles.
Its greatest ability is to heal emotional wounds, bringing a soft gentle comfort, restoring
our ability for self-love and nurturing. Rose oil can touch the deepest despair or grief, enhancing our self-confidence
and strength of will, it aids in alleviating anxiety, depression, soothes envy, intolerance and reduces anger.
As a flower essence, it is the symbol of love, helping you to open your heart to love and
bring your desires into action. Red rose increases confidence in those who suffer from feelings of shame
or timidity about their bodies. White Rose is inspiring and strengthening, renewing energy and joy in your

 VALENTINE'S
DAY
Here comes the biggest $$ gift holiday other than Christmas. Advertisers want you to think of diamonds, cars, love
potions, romantic dinners, toy animals, champagne or chocolate -- Florists want you to think flowers.
What
Makes Your Heart Sing?
This Valentine's Day, start by giving yourself the gift of unconditional love, take care of your beautiful body
-- a bubble bath, a walk in nature, a yoga class, preparing yourself a lovely meal. When you get into the
space of loving yourself, open your heart and share your unconditional love with a friend.
The best gift you can give is you, some personal time, your undivided attention to the one's you love and care
for, be it a mate, a child, a friend or a pet. Spending time preparing a special meal with love and attention,
listening with your heart, a phone call, make or buy a card, a single flower, or flowering plant. It's
really about 'Love and Gratitude' appreciating why you love someone and being grateful for their presence in your
life. It is very hard to be grateful and angry or disappointed at the same time.
Give
Your Love
If you are dissatisfied with the gift you received or the non-response to your gift, you are the one that is out
of step!
Unconditional love is not about what you get. It's about how you give your love, from the heart with no strings
(or expectations) attached, all year long.
My favorite poet, Kahil Gibran, put it so well in "The Prophet"
Love gives naught but itself
and takes naught but from itself.
Love possesses not nor would it be possessed
For love is sufficient unto love.
When you love you should not say, "God is in my heart,"
but rather, "I am in the heart of God"
And think not you can direct the course of love for love,
if it finds you worthy, directs your course.

VIBRATIONS
My flower essence spray
called "Love" is about opening ourselves to receiving love. In blending the essences for the spray, I
looked for ways to harmonize those issues which keep us from feeling loved. Each essence in the blend tells a piece
of the story:
- Connect us to the source
of love eternal, the love that lies within us
- Bring us back into our heart,
letting go of judgment
- Remain tender, even when
dealing with the harsher realities of life
- Call forth Inner strength,
patience and loving wisdom that is not emotionally dependent
- Bring unconditional love,
springing from the Source rather than our personality
- Opens a grateful heart
- Reaffirm your safety within
the universe
- Create bliss in our relationships.
Remember that these flower
essences resonate with us and bring us back into harmony and balance.
I knew the aroma for
this blend would be the Damacena Rose Oil from Bulgaria which carries a very high vibration. It is organically
grown and distilled in a small town in Bulgaria and brought to this country by my friend, Jan Salko, a.k.a. "The
Rose Queen."
